This item is about 12 inches closed and about 2 inches thick, weighs about 5 lbs .What was this used for.

Looks like a clamp for quick coupling flanged pipe.

Looks like a lever-lock Victaulic pipe coupler, possibly for an irrigation line.

It looks heavier, but similar to the clamp used to attach the silo pipe to the blower snout.

vic clamp, commonly used in the oil patch . there is a rubber seal that goes inside the coupler which is slide half way over each pipe then its clamped together. all kinds of sizes. were used on the degasser flare line.
