|
|
Hello - I have a 48 TO20 and I am having difficulty finding the correct rear drag link ends. The replacement set I ordered, from (2) different sources, appear to have too long of stud (the one that engages the steering box pitman arm). The stud length on the OEM drag link end is 5/8" and the length on the replacement end is ~7/8". When I tighten the nut the stud end rubs on the transmission case. Can anyone recommend a source for drag link ends that are the same length as the OEM ones?
Thank you,
Chris

I could recommend a hacksaw and file to shorten what you have and smooth out the end. If the threaded end is too hard for a hacksaw a cutoff blade on an angle grinder would accomplish the job. |

Run a nut all the way down, cut it shorter with a grinder blade and run the nut back off to clean up the
threads. Done. |

I appreciate the suggestions, but I think I found a source for the correct drag link. If they fit properly, I will post the part number.
Thanks,
Chris |
