Have a friend with this old Michigan Loader. It has the Waukesha 6 cy. gas engine. He needs the main Hyd. Pump. The number on the pump is 450015. The SN on the tractor is 4276. He has done a lot of checking without any luck.... |

Is the pump driven off the front of the engine by a coupling bolted to the crankshaft pulley, or is it a gear driven integral one that bolts to the block, the front timing gear cover, or is turned by a parallel shaft along the side of the block that may also connect to other engine driven systems (ignition, water pump)?
A few pictures would really be helpful... |

On a torque converter housing next to where the driveshaft to to the transmission. Pump is cutout for the driveshaft. Power steering pump mounted just to the right and up a little and about half the size.... |

"He has done a lot of checking". Without knowing where he has checked (actually contacted, not just looked on line) you may get a lot of places he has already checked. I would expect he has talked to a Michigan (Volvo) dealer. Has he talked to Minnpar? Has he checked with General Gear and Machine? Has he taken it to a shop that rebuilds pumps?
I don't know anything about this outfit but a search for "Michigan 450015 hydraulic pump" turned it up as the first one, followed by 4 more on the first page.

there is a place around Syracuse, New York that used to do a lot of parting out and selling parts from Michigan loaders additionally there is a place in either Washington or Oregon that also does the same thing. I have a model 55AG series 2, parts are a real problem. good luck |

Call a caterpillar dealer and see who has a cat custom hydraulic service like we have in bolivar Ohio. They can identify the pump and either repair it or find a suitable replacement. The problem with a Volvo dealer is going to be that they will have no listing for the machine in question... when VME Group was formed in the eighties or nineties, many Michigan dealers were closed, it was survival of the fittest. That was thirty years ago. Your only prayer with a Volvo dealer is if you have your own part numbers. |
