Howdy, I'm a new member, bought my dream retirement property last year, 33 acrs of woods on an old oil field in the southwest corner of NY, just over the PA border.

Same family owned this property for 60+ years, and never threw anything away. Word was over 80 car hulks were hauled off before it went up for sale.

What is there are about 11 old tractors, and this old girl, which I believe is a 41 Chevy 1 1/2 ton military truck, I think they were called G566.. It's a 4 wheel drive dually, with a home built dump bed, a big ole Holley carb and an Offenhausser intake. Course it's seized up, like every other piiece of equipment out here. I'd love to make this into a woods/firewood truck

That would make a very cool truck if it were restored. Being a Chevy, it shouldn't be too hard to round up what you'd need.

Great truck. I wish someone had left me a gift like that when I bought my place. That truck was very well built, and with that newer engine, I would bet that you can bring it back to life. Good Luck!

where are ya out there? My Maternal Grandfather was an oilman from Knapp Creek, my Paternal Grandfather lived in Allegany, NY, worked or Potter Lumber Company logging those woods after the War.
