I am just now putting the finishing touches on an Allied 594 on my 1650. The brackets that came with it were for some model of IH. The side brackets are full length, not like ones made for the Oliver. I added 6 to the rear and 2 to the length on the sides, using 1/2 plate. I drilled a few new holes, painted the side brackets, and it fits. I am still going to make a mount for a valve and plumb from power beyond to that. Then the hoses that came with the loader will work. After weather warms up this spring and I get a little use out of it, I want to take it back off and sandblast/paint it.

I put a JD 148 on my 1550 without any mods except for two new holes for the front brace and a couple of bars to adapt the side plates. That series came with two or three frame versions. Mine is the row crop mount and it came off a 4020.

Looks good to me.so an allied 594 or similar is doable;good starting point.do you know if some loaders will fit more than one brand machine or are all loaders brand specific?I use a loader every day on my CAT backhoe but dont know a whole lot about tractor loaders |

Is a 1550 shorter or narrower than a 1650? |

most any farmhand loader will mount up pretty easy, An F11 model will bolt right up to the rear axel and angle brace to the frame holes, other farmhand like the 228, 238, 258 will mount fairly easy. I have the 228 on a 1655, good visibility and interchangeable heads. I also have a great bend hi master 900 on another 1655, rugged loader but the visibility is poor. I run both loaders with PTO pumps for increased hydraulic capacity. |

As long as we're giving recommendations, I've got a Dunham model 22 on my 1600. Universal mounts and easy to adapt, but the loader is really too light, so I'd avoid it of you can find something else. It tends to twist awful easy. I don't like the way the bucket cylinder set up is on it either. It's a single cylinder that extends to roll the bucket back. That puts tremendous strain in the pin holes and causes them to wear out fast. I had to cut them out and put different one in it from a scrap loader that I have here. I modified it by going to two cylinders that pull back and a quick attach that matches the one on the White 1524 loader on my 1365. That fixed the pin problem, but not the twisting problem. |

rrman61, the 1550 used the same main case as the 1650 so probably the same width. I was a bit wider than the 4020 I took it off by about 5/8 inch at the rear mounting pads and 1 1/2 narrower at the front. I had to add 5/16 spacers to the spreader bar and 1 1/4 thick bars at the front. I can send you a print to drill the bars if you go that way. |
