How hard is it to switch a UB Special wide front to a narrow front end? Next question is how hard is it to find a narrow front end for a Special?

On a Special no problem. Support tractor so all the wide front parts can be removed. Then install narrow front pedestal in the wedge slot where the steering arm that connects to the tie rods was removed.
I have a narrow front pedestal located in northern Illinois.

Where are you located? That will have a big factor on interest in the wide front end. Shipping costs will be more than it is worth.
