What is the strongest clutch for a 460 making to much power for the old one

You may need to go to a multi disk setup. What engine are you using and what kind of power are you making?

KF , using a c301 about 125 hp may do more
later

If you are still using the stock setup, you can put a slightly larger flywheel in there from a 656. If you do have thoughts of doing more in the future, I d go ahead with a twin disk now. All of that said, I have a 560 with a similar engine setup that we pull up to 10,000 pounds and a six pad single disk holds fine for us.

Im running a new button clutch disc with a 60 year old pressure plate and havent had any problems at all. 560 at 105 hp 7000 lbs. May I ask what all was done for you to get 125 hp? Lee

Lee460 , pistons , head , cam , carb . 14:1 compression on methanol

Sorry for being nosy. I had pictured in my head you where running a stock 301 on 15.5 tires and 87 octane gas. (lol) Lee

Lee460 haven't dyno'ed just making a guess at 125 , it is stronger than it was
