category 1 or 2? My plow parts book shows a cat2 3pt for a 411 (same series in 4 bottom size) available. The 211/311 doesn't show a 3pt assembly. Maybe this one was retrofit sometime?

it appears the 209 was fast-hitch and the 209A was cat. 1 3-point.

the x11 series had the square backbone. x09 didn't have a backbone, just heavy strap frame. Both series started in 1958. Parts book shows x09 pictures with 3pt and x11 with fast hitch. Maybe the plows could both be had either way. The backbone is the giveaway.

209 and 309 were built 1958 to 1961. 209a and 309a were built 1961 and after. Not sure what changed.

I did see a fast hitch 209 during my searching. The link answers the question about the 209-309 being available with both hitch systems. The only other IH 3-point plows I can think of would be the 400 series.

I couldn't find any parts that match that going through the plows on the online parts book at Messicks. You may have a home-built conversion of a fast hitch plow.

Aha! Looks to me like someone tried to modify a fast hitch plow to use it on 3pt. One of my 412 FH plows was set up like that, with a 3pt drawbar clamped to the FH arms. That plow's back story was the farmer had it for a 706 FH, and when the 706 died, he wanted to use it on a newer tractor with 3pt. A fairly easy mod, since the 412 is a semimount plow with no top link.

I have a FH NOS 209 frame that I put frogs and bottoms from a 412 plow onto, that I use at plow day. Mine is FH.
