What options sould I be steering in? I have a 5000 row crop early 70s# and want to put a loader on. It has power assist and I would need to put the pump on front. Have loader from early 5000 3 cylinder engine going to 4 cylinder. Any thoughts?

5000 has always been a 4 cylinder, not such thing as a 3 cylinder 5000
5200 row crop front bolster and steering won't allow for a front mounted hydraulic pump
If the loader was for a 3 cylinder 4000 you can modify them to work on the 5200

Destroked is right.
Your options for running a loader on a row crop 5000 are the tractor's remotes or a pto pump.

Yea, I was told the 3 cylinder was a 5000. I had my doubts. Thanks for clearing that up. What modifications are needed
to get the pump to work? We put the front bolster from the Ford 3 cylinder tractor onto the 4 cylinder unit because
when I got the tractor, it needed a radiator. The radiator and bolster from the 3 cyl works great. Mounts right up and
all the holes lined up for the loader. I extended the loader frame legs to attach to the rear axle of the 4 cyl
tractor. Knowing how many cylinders are on a tractor your working with is something that I look at right away now.
lesson learned. However, it changed the steering of the tractor. HEAD ACHE. So i will be switching back to get steering
to work properly. It will have power assist. You are right, the hyd pump is in the way and needs to be mounted
somewhere. I am this close and still learning. I was considering building a bracket and running a pulley off the front
crank pulley. Mounting the pump under the front of the tractor. Thoughts? Thank you for your responces.

Are you sure you have a 5000 row crop model
The front bolster is completely different from the all purpose or 3 cylinder 4000 bloater
5000 row crop has hydrostatic steering with no linkage from the steering column to the front axle, the steering cylinder is mounted into the bolster
Row crop bolster is also longer requiring a longer hood and fan spacer
Radiator is the same on both models

Yes, I am switching back to the row crop bolster. You are right about bolster differences.

I need to put original steering back together. Also, we are
putting in new o-rings for steering column.

I just learned, from you guys, I can use Power beyond to supply oil to valves to operate loader. Glad I came
here for advice.

Is it a big deal running smaller hoses to fittings to supply oil? The hoses that came with the tractor are big.
And old. Also, am I abandoning the oil reservoir that exists in my loader frame?

If no external pump is needed to operate loader, I wont need the loader frame reservoir. A new routing of hyd
oil from tractor is plumbed back to tractor is all I need. I Could save money not filling the frame reservoir
up...

My current setup does have a quick disconnect for rear hyd attachments. The black pull knob selects between
what 2 functions? Is it 3pt rear hitch and the aux quick disconnect?

I know, my thoughts on this subject seen stupid. You need to know its my first tractor and i want to get it
right even if it takes a few tries. Im loving the learning process. Will send pics soon.
