I am restoring a cat 15 crawler tractor and having problem removing the transverse leaf spring supporting the motor. The motor is supported. The u bolt nuts, rebound spring and its linkages have been removed but I cant slide the main leaf spring through the u bolts so that it slides out the side of the machine. Is there anything else holding the spring in place,Icant see anything? Thanks.

I cannot remember the spring set up but by the rule of thumb there must be something holding the spring leaves centre, either a bolt or a dimple, if it's a bolt it might be going through the supplementary spring as well, just my 2 cents.
