Spare 4/55 engines are pretty much the holy grail of searching for DB parts.

I have one here, but it isn't for sale as it seems to keep Murphy away(just so long as you have it, you won't need it).

The base block and crank will work from a 995,996, 1200, 1210, 1212, 1390, 1394.

How bad is your crank? Only up to .020" bearings are available here, but you can get .040" overseas.

If the thrust bearing surfaces are trashed in the block/center cap, it can be saved by a savy machinist. In about 1985 my dad built/pinned a bronze thrust washer onto the center main cap of a 1210 which had broken the crank. The broken crank had wallowed out the surfaces where the normal thrust bearings were held. Dad wasn't about to spend $3000 for a block from Case when he could fix it himself. I still run that tractor almost daily with only half a thrust bearing.

Sadly, it is probably one of those cases where you put way more money into the tractor than it is worth.
