Where can I acquire the dowels and removal tongs for a 930 Case Head Gasket? I would also greatly appreciate any other information anyone can give me on these tools.

I do a lot of 401-504 motors and what worked for me I made with some 3/4" od copper tubeing, I drilled couple small holes in the top of the tube so I can use a pic to pull them out I can post a pic of them if you like, have to be careful as they are soft but they work very well for me hope this helps cnt

Gee guys, I have never used those and have never had any problems or associated failures. Certainly that is not said to criticise those who do. I hope that does not make me a bad mechanic. The firedam on the sleeve does a good job of keeping the gasket where it belongs and final alignment is done with the manifolds. I'll bet I'm not the only bad mechanic on here if that's the case. mEl

mEl if thats bad I must be rotten as I only made these "tools" in the last five years don't know that it has made a differance other than making me feel that their lined up better LOL cnt tom

made some on my lathe ,drilled and tapped them for 1/4 nc and remove them with long 1/4 bolts, I would hate to damage a fire ring if the gasket got bumped setting the head dowm.

The only place those are really nice (but not a must have )is the back head on a 70 series with a cab. Its not real easy to see whats happening under the cowling.
