My Dixon ZTR mower has a B&S Vanguard engine on it. Replacement engines are available from B&S in the Intek line as well. Anyone know what the differences(if any)are between the two?

I'm thinking they are "outsourced" to two different Japanese manufacturers, but can't immediately find anthing to back that up.

I think Daihatsu makes the V-Twin Vanguards, I don't know about the rest.

Wow, didn't know that either...

"Briggs & Stratton has a strategic relationship with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) for the global distribution of air-cooled gasoline engines manufactured by MHI in Japan under Briggs & Stratton’s VanguardTM brand."
