Im my opinion the pull at Holly Springs was a big mess! Phil Smith and the other guys at Dixie Iron are all good people and fine pullers to be around but their sled is a mess! Additionally their rules have some major problems: Pulling in specific gears is not fair when you have Olivers and M's with changed rear end gearing which makes them faster than the other Tractors in the same gears who can't afford these high dollar modifications, also most of them are violating the RPM rules something awful. If you have "open" or "outlaw" tractors then stay in your classes or don't pull! The only solution is SPEED LIMITS which negates the advantage these rule breakers have.
Mr. Clark told me that the MSFW would be adding speed limits at their MD pull plus adding OPEN CLASSES for the ones who want to go fast. That is the only solution to the situation!
I am not whining or trying to talk bad about the Dixie Iron people. However, facts are facts and no one can refute what I have said in this response as not being true.
