Getting ready to remove the engine on the 47 8n to rebuild. What rebuild kit do you guys recommend? YT and a lot of other sites sell them and just wanted your opinions on the best one before I bought one. Want to buy a complete kit. thanks

YT sells the Tisco line, and I'll bet that just about every other on-line source you have found is also fron Tisco. Tisco is no longer just a "good enough" brand. Their quality is now right up there with O.E.M. parts. I'd find the source with the best price and service.

John

I will be ordering parts for the rebuild on the 50 8N from this site tomorrow.

It was my final thought that you just cannot buy a complete rebuild "kit" yep there are kits, but then there may be some things that just don't need replacing and also odds and ends.

I would never order parts before a tear down and good miking. My crank was 20 under and the valve train was a hodge podge of stuff apparently off the work bench. Also it looked like to me there was no way I needed pistons and the bore was fine.

My up front problem was no oil pressure. You will never know about the oil pump until you check it out also.

Have fun
