You'll get lots of replies, but first look at the engine. Jubilee (NAA) is overhead, 2-8-9N are all flathead. 8N was 4 speed. 3 speed with reverse was 2N and 9N. Does it have the left brake on the left side beside the clutch? If so, 9N-2N. That serial number shows as 1939 9N.

yes, that is an early 39 9n tractor. one of the first. since you were mislead, i would try and get my money back. the jubilee is 4 times the tractor that you bought.

jubilee's started in 53 and had an overhead valve 134 c.i. motor. around 30 h.p.
your 39 is around 12 to 13 h.p.

As the others said its not a Jubilee, you have a 9N at around 23HP. The jubilee is around 31HP and is a good bit bigger tractor. Hope you didn't pay to much for it since its not what you where told that it was.

Well, if the serial # is correct, it"s an early 9N and with a number that low may actually be worth more than a Jub, depending on what kind of shape it"s in. As I recall, horsepower on them is in the mid 20"s, so not that much different. Before I"d try and get my money back, I"d sure check into what the original year 9N is worth vs. what you paid for it.....

Junkscraper,
Click on the identify link for John Smith's fine site to decipher what you bought.
As for the serial #; If it is 9N7760, wouldn't that be the luck.
Of course the guy was probably looking for a worker and not a collectable...

That would be a DB figure.

The 9n/2n were pretty much equal to an 8n.. except for the slightly lower comp ratio..
