Well I finally replaced the broken valve spring & cleaned up all the Gunk.
Going to start to put it back together tonight & adjust the valves cold to 18 thousand.
Should I try a little less cold clearance?

When I removed the rocker assembly 3 valves had excess clearance & one was too tight.

Must admit I got side tracked cleaning & painting various tractor parts today which was not on the game plan.

Working on three different tractors at the moment.
It would be nice to finish a least one tractor project before we start another !!!??

I used to have a '54 NAA, the "Red Tiger" is a nice little engine Smile Don't recall the valve clearances but lookin in a 600/800 owners manual, sez .014-.016, WARM. Surely, the NAA is the same. If ya need to adjust cold, I'd recommend .016-.018.
