From what iv researched the D336A was the engine for the 64'to 65' 670s with the 10A23134 heads and the regular D336 was all the later 670s and they used the 10A4222 heads. I have a rebuilt set of the 10A23134. What will it take to get these heads to work properly? I know they used these heads on a few different engines like the 504 ci. Please help since there is no info on these older moline diesels. |

The 5*, M5, M602, Early M670, G705, G706 and early G1000 diesels used the 10A4222 heads. M670 Super and later G1000 diesels used the 10A23134 heads. The G1050 diesel used 10A29559 heads. These engines are all 4-5/8 x 5 bore & stroke.
The earlier U, UB, Specials, G, GB diesels used the 10A4214 heads & were all 4-1/4 x 5 bore & stroke. |

Thanks I appreciate the help. So what your saying is that it should be just fine to bolt this heads on and everything will work? Only ask cuz a call to Welters said they will work but there was something to do with the injector copper gasket or something like that...basically it boiled down to I didn't get the information I needed so it left me puzzled. I'd really like to get it outta the shop so it can get painted and I can start another project lol. |

Later motors used different injectors and pump. Injectors off a D504A won't work in earlier
heads and vice versa. |

So what your saying is the older engines (meaning like the 336A with the 10A23134 head) injectors won't work in the 422 heads? |

My tractor is a 68' according to my research and it has a D336A 4 and has the 10A23134 heads. So basically these heads are for this block? Sorry for the dumb questions and the repetivness but this is the first moline diesel I have ever owned. Also I'm just wondering if this is the original engine for this cuz I thought the later ones didn't have the "A" on the tag. And also wondering what the difference is between the "A"s and the ones without that on the tag? Thanks again for clearing this up for me. |

A4T 1400 used the D504A motor and that was 1969. Know a fellow that used blocks and heads
off a g705 (4222) heads. He had to modify injectors to make work. Never did run right with
A injection sytem. The A series was later in G1000,G1050. Thinking your motor is late 69-
70. What is actual serial#? |

You have a 1968 M670 Super diesel. Your engine is the original one it came with from the factory. |
