jdparts.com is down right now, so I can't get you a DEERE part number.
I know two different starters were used, early models with B43 engine used an "inertial engagement" starter with a remote-mounted solenoid, and later P218 Onan used a positive-engagement starter with integral solenoid.
Which type do you have?
NOT sure if they can be swapped as a complete unit? |

Dear Bob and Gab, I think I found out what I was looking for. The part # is AM103290. It looks a little different on Ebay but they say that is the part number I'm looking for. Mine is round and has a push on plug for hot. |

OK, so needed a simple remote-mount solenoid. |

the J.D. B 43G 318 mostly used the inertia style of starter.
BUT, between the B 43E 43G and 48G, i,m told there were 5000 units
that used a SOLENOID SHIFT style of starter at the end of the production run.
thank you. boomer ( the used onan engine parts guy also NOS and new ) |
