Looking at a 3500 but wondering about parts. Places like lmc show parts for half or three quarter ton pickups. Body parts, body bushings and other stuff are these the same with the one ton? Are the body repair panels there OEM quality or thin or overlay parts etc.

Where is the best place to shop for quality parts? Places like Napa or the dealer etc an option?

Looking for an old truck to haul my old tractors around, even though this is a newer truck Wink

Thanks for your opinions...

Cab parts are pretty much all the same be it a 1/2 ton or a 1 ton. Suspension parts are different. Many parts for engine etc. are still sold by places like NAPA and O'Reilly's

Well that deal did not work out but I found a 1960 GMC V4000. It's a bigger step up, 5 speed with two speed rear end. It used to have a dump bed but that's been removed so just a frame back there. Still has the pto, the hoses are there but the cylinder is gone.

Heard it crackle with some ether. Last inspection sticker was 99. Any advice on bringing this back to the land of the living is appreciated. Remove and clean the tank, new fuel pump, oil change etc. what mistakes do people make trying to bring one of these old trucks back?

Plan to make this a farm truck, flat bed with maybe a hydraulic truck crane. Seen some videos where folks have added power steering and power brakes, not sure if in my future but sounds good. I used to own a 66 international of about the same size, was a great truck. Hoping to make this one too.
