Wouldn’t that thing create some side draft! No wonder it didn’t work out, but if they wouldn’t have tried it they never would have known if it would work or not.

I can only imagine how that thing must have pulled
maybe not to bad with a 50,000 pound steam
engine in front though ?

Ever looked up the 1886 Berry combine? 40'head self propelled steam power burning straw and harvested 100 acres / day using nighttime lighting. Tulare County Museum,Visalia,CA . First self-propelled combine Patent#374339 in 1887.
