Neighbor brought over his To 30 because motor was making knocking noise. I pulled the pan and was surprised to see rods 3 & 4 dry, no oil on them at all and bearing spun on 4. Rods 1 &2 were wet. What would cause this to happen. plenty of good oil in motor. Looking at as much of the motor that I could see, there was plenty of oil being pumped though the motor.
Since the labor charges will be more than tractor is worth owner will probably sell it to me. I do not know so much about Fergusons used part market since I have an 8N. Is there much market for TO parts. Tractor does have a Sherman combo in it and lot of other good parts. Plus it has a jungle gym bucket on it also. |

Parting it should bring a fair amount. Ford can use the Ferguson Sherman combo. Ferguson cannot directly use the Ford Sherman combo. The top
lid is a different design. The engine block itself might get you a buck or two.
The engine might interest me more than it should. You didn't say where you are located.
Fergy parts sell better in another month or two. |

Good morning DavidBond:
If you or your neighbor should decide to part out this TO 30, I'm interested in the Sherman Combo. I own and operate a Ferguson TEA 20 that requires a Sherman Combo.
My understanding of the Sherman Combo, is the Combo has both overdrive and under drive capabilities?
If so, I'm interested in this Sherman Combo for my daily user.
Thanks
Bob.... |
