These letters/numbers are stamped into the upper right rear corner of the block. VAC would be the tractor model, 124 would be the CID.
Any idea what the other 5 numbers stand for? I looked in my parts book and they are not engine block numbers. Could they be a factory rebuild number? The letter/numbers are very well defined and very even across, almost like machine stamped. Thanks, Wayne

As I understand it the 5 digits are the serial nr of that one block. The next block off the line would logically be 44694.

Thanks! I don?t remember seeing numbers like that on the other 8 VA?s, but then I wasn?t looking for
them either. Guess l?ll have to check all of them. Will be interesting because I have 3 VAO?s that are all
within 10 numbers of each other. Thanks for the reply. Wayne

I have checked a lot of VA, 300 & 300B engine serial nrs, all of them ended with five digits. I think that is true through the x00B series tractors also.

Let us know what you find.
