Ive got a 310C that has a really loud hydraulic whine when I raise and lower the loader. Its got plenty of hydraulic fluid, plenty of power and nothing leaks. Its got close to 8000 hrs on it. Is it something I should be concerned about and just keep running or should I be thinking about changing the pump? Any thoughts?

Not many JD's around my neck of the woods so my knowledge is limited, there will be by rule of thumb a strainer often referred to as a suction filter in the reservoir to stop any debris getting to the pump, there would also be a filter on the return line, both those filters are service items that should be either changed or washed at regular intervals, depending on their location, usually the reservoir strainer is washable and the return one replaceable, look in your handbook for reference, check the lines going to the pump is not damaged squashed or kinked or drawing air.

If your hydraulic fluid foams up it might make a noise.
