The Baltimore birds have such a strange call. Very different. They built that nest that looks like an old sock hanging from a branch.

We had one nest outside kitchen window a few years ago and made nest using some string one of the young got tangled up and fell from nest only to hang about 3 feet below by one leg. I did manage to get it down, the whole time the mother kept an eye on me!

They arrived here this week, heard them on Saturday. Weeks earlier that normal. You're right, their call is unlike any other. Most of time can't even see them because they hang out in the treetops. Then they fly north a week later and gone until next year.

Baltimore Oriole love grape jelly. We have several pair hanging around here and wife filled the jelly feeder twice today. They also like oranges.

SweetFeet, I was going to post a couple more bird pictures yesterday morning but my broadband went down and only got back a while ago. I had to go in for some cancer surgery to my face this morning where they did a biopsy a few weeks ago and said all clear now and will remove stiches on 28th. Getting old isn't fun.
