One of those days ! I went to the mill and got seven bags of triple 16 for my daughter's lawn. Drove out to their farm and put the bags in their garage. Then I walked down to the shop to see how my grandson was progressing with an old riding mower I had given him. The shop door opened and I went in. Then I heard what sounded like police sirens , went out to look and realized I had tripped the alarm. I decide I better drive into town and get my grandson so he could shut off the alarm. I had to clear it with the school that he could leave with me. When we got back to the farm the alarm had shut off. I was expecting police cars to be in the yard ! We reset the alarm and phoned his Dad in case his phone app was showing intruders. A fifteen minute errand turned into an hour and twenty miles driven ! (Incidentally 16 16 16 is $20 for a 40 lb bag , 7 bags cost me $160 . How do farmers afford 200-400 lbs per acre..robbery if you ask me) Anyway that was today's circus and I still have a half a day left to do more !!

Sounds like I may have to put an alarm/surveillance system on my manure pile soon, lol. One thing I have noticed with chemical fertilizers, farmers have gotten much more careful about how they apply. High price equipment , with GPS will apply fertilizer in a band, at variable rates , according to crop harvest maps from previous year. I am not so hi-tec with my manure spreader

That's well over twice what I pay....yeah, maybe we are getting robbed, but you are getting robbed more. Buying in bulk and large quantities and in the off season makes a difference.

But I bet you slow down a bit spreading over the poorer spots in the field.

The fact that you have a manure spreader puts you light years ahead of me and my method of application.
