I use only Classic, and someone was referred to the list of site features that's on the left in Classic (serial numbers, photo ads, etc.). He came back saying he couldn't find it. Just on a hunch I went to Modern, and sure enough, its not there. How do you get to those features when on Modern?

Clicking over to classic (the classic view link or the tractor logo at the top) is the only way for now, but every page on Modern has the single link to get you to the classic where the numerous menu links can be displayed. On the phones, there is a different issue also dictated by the search engines. There we can't even display the menu or we'd be classified as not mobile friendly, and have to have a "resources" button to get it to come up.

HA! "Modern", indeed! There are apparently some advantages to being a curmudgeon. LOL

Classic was the original and stayed with the www domain. The problem is two domains (www vs forums.yesterdaystractors.com), can't have numerous links to the same content according to the powers that determine if you will exist on the net or not. Since classic was the original and is www, it has the menu.

What I could do, but it's a lot of work, is put the menu on there if you are logged on. Then users would get the benefits but the search engine programs wouldn't see it since they can't login. I wish I'd have thought of that a long time ago. I don't really like the rules making it so we can't do the best for a user. I use modern all the time, and it is a hassle to have that extra click required, but it's necessary to keep the site online.

If we update modern to be a truly modern site, we could somehow incorporate it into www with classic. Should have done that originally, but the rules didn't exist then so there was no reason.
