What engine was used in a w7 loader? Found one today that looks about all there, except the engine. Common to a tractor or something just for that loader?

I have a W7D Case Payloader that I bought nearly 20 years ago. It had a weak engine in it when I bought it. I found a couple of Case tractors for sale at the time an 830 and an 800B. Both diesels, and the 830 had just recently been overhauled by the local Case Dealer with a new set of heads installed at the same time. Shortly thereafter the Hi/Low shifter began to jump out of gear on the 830 so the owner decided to bail on the 830 and the 800. He put $4K into the 830 overhaul alone, I bought both the 830 and the 800B for $2,500.00. It takes a fair amount of parts swapping from the old engine to make it work. Flywheel, water pump, fuel filtering is different and exhaust manifolds, front motor mount and if I remember right I think the water manifold also is different some how. Vacum Pump also has to be transferred onto the tractor engine. Takes time but it works. The 730 is probably a more reliable engine, stick to the diesel if you can find one.

I thought it would be a common tractor engine. That's why it is missing. Someone bought it put in a tractor. What made me stop and look at the thing was it looks a lot easier to get on and off than some of the old michigans and houghs. Thanks for the reply.
