Try asking your question on the WFM site.

https://www.wfmachines.com/forums/forum.php

They are the best on garden tractors/mowers.

We have 755 and a 430. Same engine in both as well as the 455.

I have no experience with the 455, but I dislike both the 430 and the 755.

The 755 is much larger and heavier physically than the 455 with the same engine which underpowers it slightly. If it s not wound up tight it s useless.

If you hate the 430 that much I will take it and give it a good home. Wink

I have it's baby brother, a 332. 2800 hours and running strong. Yanmar engines are terrific, but you need a good, clean cooling system to keep them cool.

If they were mine they would be gone. The 430 is my brothers and the 755 my dads.

"If it s not wound up tight it s useless. "

Well that is pretty much the nature of any hydrostatic transmission.

I had a 755 but not a 455. Either one should mow fine. 755 would offer a 4x4 ( an option I would not be without.) plus you can use normal cat.1 3pt equipment and pto. The 755 offers a nice suspension seat and a fast reverse speed for a hydro that many other brands and models do not have.
All depends on what your needs and budget are. I'm sure a 755 was more money when new and should still cost more than a 455 used in similar cond.

I have an 855, big brother of the 755, with MFWD. Both have 3-cylinder Diesel engines, but the 855 has 20% more power and a bigger chassis allowing larger belly mower and higher lift loader than does the 755. Depending on how big of place you have and what and how many attachments you're going to use, I'd recommend the 855 over 755, but on either, highly recommend MFWD. I've had my '96 MFWD 855 for 18 years and like it a lot. It has required no major repair and sure uses a lot less fuel than my 17 hp Kawasaki-powered LX277 lawn tractor. The 855 handles a 5' front mount snow blower, 6' belly mower, 5' rototiller, 50 gal 3-point 12' sprayer, and model 70A loader with ease. When loader or snow blower are attached to the front I hang 800+ lbs of "big tractor" front end weights on the Cat. 1 rear 3-point hitch.

If only mowing lawns. You want a Z525 or Z535 series of Deere zero turns. That obtains a thicker deck, heavier drive train , larger diameter tires and an engine durability upgrade over the Z300 s.
