1957 Ford 600 was running fine then went to missing as if on 3 cyls.
Going to give it a tune up, but suspect a head gasket as it is about
20 yrs old now. What should the compression be on an average for each
cyl? Thanks

My shop manual says a 600 should have compression of 120 to 130 pounds. What shop manual are you reading?

Generally speaking ignition problems are a lot cheaper and easier to solve than a head gasket problem so I would exhaust the ignition possibilities before going into a head gasket.

My '62 w/172 cid checks out a 155 for each and that is considered good to great for it... my manual says 120 -160 lbs.
