It appears I got my first and last catalog if I don?t order something. Mostly junk toys and overpriced items.

Hey, it says you are pre-approved to Buy Now, Pay Later.

Now if you could only print your own money.

You would be just like Uncle Sam.

So did I. I went to the close out sale years ago. As a kid I went to the grand opening of that same store. At Big Town mall in Mesquite Texas. It was way out in the country. Now the land is in town.

I used to go to the big store here in Ft Worth.

Spent many hours, page by page in the "wish book".

They had everything! It was one of the distribution hubs, huge warehouse with trucks an a train spur.

If it wasn't on the shelf, it would be in the catalog dept in a couple hours!

Wasn't that on seventh street. We would stop in. After we went to the stockyards. As a 13 year old I was in heaven. Couldn't wait for the Monky Wards and Sears. Christmas books to come out.

Yes, 7th and Carrol.

That was the first place my mom dared leave me by myself. Drop me at the tools, boats, tractors, motorbikes, all the cool stuff, while she went looking at clothes.

The main building is still there, refurbished after sitting vacant for years. It's now restaurants, bars, specialty stores.

The warehouse is gone, replaced with a Target store and the rest is strip mall stores.

It's an upscale area now, crowds, high prices, drinking, too fast for me, I stay away.

I got one of these catalogs a few years ago.
Not the same company as the orignal Monkey Wards. This company bought the name and is using it for sales.
As posted previously, mostly imported junk.

My dad bought me a Hawthorne .22 at Wards when I was 10. Clip malfunctioned many years ago, I took it apart and lost the innards. Finally did some research online and found that it was a Mossberg model 140, so I was able to get a new clip. Gave it to my grandson, he's making good use of it.
