Does anyone have a source for engine components for a Ford
534 v-8 gasoline engine?

Ernie: That"s quite an engine. What have you got that in? Some of the older fire trucks around here had that engine in them.

It?s in a 1975 Ford L880, twin screw with a 22? grain box. I have two of these trucks. The other one I blew the motor on a swapped it out for a 3208 cat(210hp).

What are you needing?? Are you looking for new or used parts?? I have an old truck that has a 534 V-8 in it that is pretty much a parts truck.

I am actually trying to sell this truck and the potential buyer is concerned about parts if it needs overhauled at some point. I can find most parts but not any piston sets. I have a parts motor but it has a bad head and one bad piston

Ernie: Never heard of an L880. I thought the models went 800 850 900 950 and maybe 1000? in the gas series. What she got for a tranny? The 3208 doesn't turn the rev's that the 534 did does it?

Wiseco makes the custom pistons for the 383, 410, 430 and 462 MEL series engine. The Super Duty engine shares the same head-piston design as the MEL so they should be able to make the SD piston as well. Does yours have a log type intake manifold or the dual plane?

A couple of years ago the MEL pistons were around $120 each. Worth the price over the incorrect low compression shelf pistons out there.
