I have Menard's email version of their weekly flier sent to my computer every week. Yea, I'm a glutton for punishment, I guess.
Anyway, in their latest flier, I see they are pushing "International Harvester"-branded air impact drivers.
Let's see now....International Harvester has been defunct now for how many decades? So, I guess if they came out with CaseIH impact drivers, there wouldn't be a following?
I know they are just rebranded Chinese-made goods, but I'd like to know if anybody buys these, will you just put it up on the display shelf for show or are you willing to actually use them?

International Harvester is not defunct. They still build trucks and they still own the name and trade mark. Using the name on a product NOT built by, or licensed by International Harvester is a copyright infringement, but then the Chinese have been getting away with copyright infringements for many years.

Some Corporation "owns" the name. There is so much branded stuff with "International Harvester" on it. Sure it is probably Chinese made, but frankly most of "Made in USA" has gone that way. I don't really care whose name is on it, so long as it works for me to get the job done. gobble

Agreed - the original IH company never went bankrupt, never took a government bailout and is still producing trucks and engines to this day. The name International Harvester was bought (leased?) by Tenneco and the surviving divisions of IH operate under the name Navistar.

The Case-IH name is still used to this day and the IH symbol is prominently displayed on the Axial Flow combines.

Probably like some tools that have the "John Deere" name on them.

Certainly looks official and authentic, what possibly could go wrong and only $50.00.

That sure looks like the Ingersoll that I have! But I don't believe the 700 ft lbs.

If you are willing to pay the licensing fee, you can buy the right to put a brand name and logo on your product. Not all brands are for sale like this, but many are.

You've all seen "Caterpillar" work boots, right? Do you really think CAT makes boots? No. Some cut rate footwear manufacturer paid CAT for the right to use the name and logo.
