First time dude here. Trying to locate a steering part for a friends 1030. He describes the shaft coming out of the box that then attaches to the pitman arm. He lives in Va and having no luck finding what he needs.

He tells me this is a 1987 MF 1030. The part number of the broken piece is 3436460m-1. He knows that he might have to purchase a entire used steering box to get this but if that s what it takes, he ll do it.

Any clues where we can track this item down? Tks.

Those tractors were made by Hinomoto for MF. Hinomoto hasn't made parts for those tractors for a long time. The complete used steering box will probably be the only way to get any steering parts he needs (I'm surprised he was able to find a complete used steering box for it).

Hello
Judging by your description...the part number of the shaft is actually 3436450m1. If you google that part number there seems to be parts out there.
Hope this helps?
Wayne
