I have a Danuser F8 post hole digger that needs the two gearbox seals, one at the PTO/pinion shaft and one at the 2 9/16 auger shaft. Does anyone have a number or cross reference number for these seals other then Danuser's number?
If you also have the gearbox bearing numbers, I would keep for future, but seals # I need.

If you are capable of measuring the bore the seal fits in, the shaft diameter where the seal rides, and the seal width accurately you can plug the numbers in at the link below and get a SKF/CR seal number that most any auto parts store will have, or be able to cross to the brand they carry or quickly order you one. Or, if you have a local industrial supply "bearings and drives" sort of place, give them a try.

I know what oil to put in, my question was for the cross ref. seals not the oil. I also know the Danuser number and price of their seals.

Thanks for answer. I can get the exact bore and shaft sizes for both, but both of these have some kind of material inside that is part of the seal, so they are of a design different then a seal backed by a spring, and they have no numbers on them. My guess is they are original to the gearbox. This is why I'm looking for seal numbers other then Danuser.

The Chicago Rawhide numbers are 25597 and 16406.

In my response to finding SKF seals you wrote: "but both of these have some kind of material inside that is part of the seal, so they are of a design different then a seal backed by a spring, and they have no numbers on them. So Shaun gives you SKF/CR numbers for "off the shelf" seals, for which you are thrilled/grateful, likely the same seals you would have found by dimension with the "Sealfinder".

I must have missing something here???

Well, not sure. I looked up the CR seals and one looked good, the other looked like a regular oil seal. Remember, these are GREASE seals not oil seals. I did measure the shafts and bores and the following size seals should fit: Pinion -OD 2.875, ID 1.635(probably 1.625 seal), Auger - OD 3.500 ID 2.562. These would be the OD and ID of the seals. Now, if I can only get a cross reference GREASE seal number for each.

Either seal will work FINE for "grease".

The 16406 is a CRW1 series seal, 25597 is a "CRWH1" series seal, meaning that it has an extra steel stiffening insert, sealing lip and "garter spring" are basically the same.

For anybody out there that has an older model F8 (or maybe F7) Danuser post hole digger, the original oil seal numbers are: Auger - Garlock Klozure 63 x 1885, Pinion - Garlock Klozure 63 x 0787. They are still made and you probably can cross reference for a different brand. According to Danuser one of the seals is obsolete to their part list, don't know why. Just see if the bore and OD are the same as yours.
