John Deere 2040 Front end loader

hello, new to the group. I Have a 83 2040...I think
Ive been searching high and low for loaders local. found several I think would work with a bit of fabrication. Im really not wanting a project. In my searching: 143. 145. 175?. 210. 520. 146. 148. 158? Am I missing any or confused on these?
Im not even sure of what type hydralics I have.
Has anyone documented a "easy" other brand that fits?

JD 148 & 158 FEL weren't designed to fit JD 2040 tractors.

Does your 2040 have a 3 or 4 cyl engine?

According to serial chart I located JD 2040 with 3 cyl engine were built '76-'82 not '83. JD 2040 with 3 cyl engine built before serial # 266750 would have open center hyd & in 1978 changed to closed center hyd's. This info is very important when installing a FEL utilizing a ind control valve.

Although the OC/CC hyd info is available on Tractordata I'm unaware of a chart. Plus I sold ""new 2040's""
