I was over on Page 2 or 3 of this evenings postings herein and Rick B made a comment and described the location of this and that on a 4630 if I recall correctly.

I have an '88 Series 2 3910 with what appears to be a hyd pump on the right side of the hydraulic section and over on the left side is a bracket with an oil filter mounted parallel to the tractor, facing aft...

I was working through the purchase (done deal, installed and working fine) of an after market remote hydraulic control and in the postings the subject of single or dual hyd pump came up. Would appreciate someone telling me what I have and if it's a dual pump, what's the reason and usage and what difference does it make on the flow rates and usages.

Thanks

It does have 2 pumps, one for hyd and other is piggyback for pto. Just really has 1 main hyd pump.

3910 was the 1st model of the 3000 series to use the 4000 series planetary axle that has the hydraulic pump mounted in the axle housing
You have the standard hydraulic pump for that model which has a external filter on the left side under the foot board, that filter design was introduced on the 4600 model
The dual pump system has the standard axle mounted pump with a additional engine mounted pump, either pump puts out 8-9 gpm with a combined flow of 16-18 gpm

My 6610 has this dual pump system

Thanks guys. The difference in the performance/range/lifting ability of my 3910 vs 3000 is significant with both having similar CatII lift arms (I changed the arms on the 3000 to Cat II) and Pat's Quick Hitches.
