Ferguson TE 20 and 5 FT land pride bushog

My 1948 TE 20 handles a 4 foot woods {1973 model } easily. I have a newer 4 foot John Deere bushhog which is much lighter.
My question will my TE 20 handle a 5 foot landpride bushhog? My friends ford [800 I think } has a 4 cylinder diesel but the 3 point hydraulics will not lift his 5 foot landpride bushhog. Obviously something wrong with the 3 point hydraulic system on his tractor. Would like to connect my 1948 TE 20 to his 5 foot. Landpride. Would like to know, will the 3 point hydraulics on my TE 20 lift the Landpride? Secondly will the TE 20 operate the 5 foot bushhog?
I set up his landpride with a set of chains to hold his 5 foot bushhog in place. His tractor has 40 hp plus and my TE 20 has 23-24 hp big difference. Our TE20 has a Sherman transmission which has a very low gear.
Our TE 20 handles the 4 foot woods bushhog easily cutting tall grass in the picture in low and under with the Sherman transmisisonl

Could you please share with us,what gear is your Tractor in, so as to have a Standard PTO speed
eg,520>540 RPM ??

I have operated N fords with Sherman auxiliary transmissions... when Sherman is in UNDER drive... PTO is also way under standard PTO RPM.

John Deere,

I was using low gear in the main transmission and low gear in the sherman for cutting grass in the picture. PTO speed is decreased cutting this way. Bushhog works better when the main transmission is in low or second and the sherman is in direct.
Have to make several passes raising the bushhog to cut tall grass using main transmission in low and sherman in direct.Most grass I cut is much lower than grass being cut in the picture.

I ran a 5’ Sidewinder behind my TO-20, no problems lifting it. In the summer I had to watch the water temperature. I have a 4’ now and find it much more compatible. The cut is better, no temp issues, just a little more time in the seat.

My Ferguson has a continental overhead valve engine. I agree with you regarding bushhog size. 4 foot I have wood JD great with my TR 20 . Have 4 acres of field to cut and takes me about 3 hours
