the 30 series aren't bringing much here. They are slightly less desireable than the 40 and newer. the 30s just were a horse of a different color so to speak with different load control, different electrical, the bronze a range bushing issue, the lighter front end, the 40 and up seem to be worth the extra money here. |

hello,, MR. TIM S. working on a 4320 trans. 2nd & 5th gear is seized onto the diff. pinion shaft. so tight that ANY gear selection will stall the engine with clutch released. it looks like i have to cut the pinion shaft in two on BOTH sides of the seized gear with a cutting torch to get it apart. this will destroy both shift collars & the collars they slide on.. any other suggestions?? i've had plenty of this type trans. apart in the last 50 plus years but don't remember this type of failure.. |

Now you've got me curious. Is that the one in Pewamo on CL?
There was a 2955 on that auction on Alpine a week ago with a cab, FWA and loader with bucket and forks that brought $15000. Let that be your guide for what they're worth around here. |

OK, because there are two of them on CL here in Michigan. Priced kind of high for what Deeres are bringing here anymore. On that sale, there was a nice 4250 too, brought $18,100 and a nice looking 4630 with weights and duals that brought $10,000. |

That's a cheap price for for 4250 since it doesn't have much EPA controls. Were hours of use listed? |

I didn't get up in it and look to see how many hours Jim. Here's a picture of it with the description from the sale bill. Having
had a 4040, I thought this one went cheap. The dealer situation here is really starting to take its toll on values.

It's fairly shiney for an '85 model. I would have guessed it selling in the mid to upper $20K |

Both appear to be nice tractors for that price. I personally wouldn't buy a 50 or 55 series JD utility tractor with a cab because of inherit hyd problems & the master/slave cylinder clutch controls. |
