|
|
Was wandering around an abandoned farm at a solar field and came across some things. Saw these and thought they were unusual because of their size, nearly 4' long.
Thinking they go with these and are for a cultivator fertilizer attachment.
What do you think? Likely jd as most that was laying around was jd.
Saw these brand new sickles about 6 or 7 feet long.
And this wooden grass seeder in very nice shape.
If anyone has a use for them I can probably make arrangements to get them.
Also found a lot of interesting trash and hazmat. Including 20 gallons of Lasso herbicide old enough to be in steel 5 gal containers. Was an interesting walk. |

They do look like fertilizer auger[s]/sections. But they don't look like the ones JD has used, for at least the last half century. You must have something similar in your Case planter? |

Yes, but much shorter. I'm thinking these would go with those boxes pictured and be mounted high on a row crop cultivator to side dress fertilizer. These are very long |

I have seen hoppers like those on a Deerborn cultivator-side dresser. |

They look like the same style grain drop pipes that were on my dad’s Massey Harris grain drill, and the seed box looks similar also |

These are more than double that length. My case uses them too, but only a foot or so long. They are larger than any I've seen on grain drills as well. |

gbs is right. I've got the complete set of side dresser as we call them in our area. John Blue it is. Yes, those are fertilize pipes that allow the fertilize to drop to the cultivator shank that is used to cultivate/add fertilize. |
