Tracy Brown dropped off my new toy. It's a Ford! Gonna take a little getting used to! My wife may have already claimed it

Grandpa
You and Grandma will really like that one. You will throw away your shovel and wonder how you ever did things without it! |

They come in handy and if you learn to operate it well you can turn it a full 360 using the backhoe plus a lot of other things. Done that type of thing many times with backhoes |

You will like it and wonder how you got along without one for so long. You probably know this already but with a backhoe it is more important than ever to Call Before You Dig. If you have not operated a backhoe before, you may want to consider the following: take it to the back 40 and play. Make sure no one within the reach of the boom while you are getting the feel for the hoe. Practice until you can dig with out thinking about the controls. Stay out of deep holes that can cave in on you. If you must get in the hole, make sure it is shored up or widen the hole at a 45* slope so it can't cave in. A grease gun is a backhoe's friend. Grease all the bucket and pivot pins at least once a day when in use. Be safe and have fun. |

By the way if done right you can sink a fence post in the ground in a heart beat with that backhoe. BTDT many times |

At least you bought a 4 stick rather than one of those 3 stick Case jobs.
Dang I hate them things.
Best advise I can give to you is read Tony's post over and over till you know every word by heart.
And follow them.
A backhoe is nice but can get you in a lot of trouble if you are not careful especially from someone that thinks he knows how to operate one. |

Tony, all good advice, thank you. We always call before we dig, deck footings or fence posts. Plan to learn the controls way off in the back 40. No detail work for a while! Wife is a little scared of it..... I may be too! Lol |

And have good insurance. I know a couple of guys that build homes. They bought a brand new mini-x. One guy was digging in a water line and hit a buried power line. The power line was just put in so it wasnt a secret where it was. Again, have good insurance. |
