Looking at what is registered as a 1965 C1200, 4wd. Serial number starts with "C", but it looks like the '65's were actually "D's"(???). It needs some sheet metal work, mainly front fenders. The headlight area is simply gone. I can't locate any aftermarket source. Any suggestions?

Bret, IH titles had the year put on the title in the year that they were sold so a 65 titled truck could have been made in 64 and sold in 65. Each year the grille was different and you can probably nail down the exact year of manuf. by that. (if it hasnt been changed) Reproduction body parts are unavailable. The good thing is that the same cab, doors and fenders were used from 61 through 68 with only trim and grill changes. My 68 1300 4X4 has a cab, doors fenders and grille from a 65. This was done , i am sure. when the truck went through a half-a$$ restoration. I am sure mine is a 68 because two mechanical features were Government mandated in 68 and that is the colabsable steering shaft and the dual brake cyl. The serial number "should" also be stamped on the frame to the rear of the steering box.,,,If you can post a pic of your grill we can figure the year of Manufacture.....Ed
