Fellow Oliver collectors.
A group of Hart-Parr, Oliver, White collectors, most of us are HPOCA members, is trying to raise the money needed to purchase the Dyno Car listed on the Ollie Schaeffer auction. Our intention is to give the Dyno Car to the Floyd County Museum, where it will be available for all to see. If you would like to help leave a message here or call 402-860-5104.
Thanks

I got my heritage magazines down looking for that article. I didn't find it but noticed I have one dated Feb/Mar 2021 AND I have one dated Dec/Jan 2021.

It was used at the Nebraska tractor testing facility to apply the load when testing tractors.

Super 99, this test car was not used at Nebraska Tractor Test Lab. The Oliver management decided that they did not want any surprises when they got to the test at Nebraska. They hired one of the engineers from Nebraska and had him design a duplicate of the Nebraska test track and this test car. The people that I have talked to about this said there is a lot of work that goes into getting a tractor ready for the Nebraska test. Nebraska test lab or The Lester Larsen museum has a later test unit based on of an 1855 Oliver tractor. The test lab now uses a test unit built by Cat. a couple of web sites for more information about testing https://tractortestlab.unl.edu/ https://tractormuseum.unl.edu/

Interesting that it took a lot of work to get a tractor ready for the Nebraska Test which to me would call the results in question compared to the tractor a farmer bought.Wonder why they just didn't go get a tractor off a dealer's lot like the Independent Institute Highway Safety does? No way those people would let a car company know what car they were going to test.

Traditional Farmer, maybe it has something to do with the Nebraska law that says no tractor can be sold in Nebraska before it is tested. Every company has to provide any new model for the test if the want to sell them in Nebraska. Some models have never been tested because the manufacturer didn't think there would be enough sales to warrant the test costs. Models like Oliver Super 44 were not sent to the test.
Thanks
