Just bought a Farmall 340 and the PTO lever is in the neutral position. Will not move far enough to engage or the lock off.Is this a serious problem to fix?

It probably has a sheared key on the top of the axle where the linkage attaches to the lever. Take it apart. there can be no slack there. It might need a new bigger key and grinding out of the key slot/way. Jim
