Does anyone have a pic of the hood with the latch holding it? My hood has the latches and I see a small tab on the tank but there is no way the latch would line up with it...

Unless someone cut the off, there should be like an ear on the pieces on the tank, that are angled. Pull down and turn the J hooks until the bent section on the end of the hook lines up with the eat and let the hook back up. Sorry no pics.

This should help with a picture of the tabs on the tank. A lot of time the hooks/holes in the hood bracket that the hooks ride in are worn, so they don't exactly fit correctly. Just have to do the best you can, otherwise I am sure there are companies out there that make reproduction hood latch assemblies.

There should be a bracket welded to both sides of the tank to receive the J hook.
If none then they somehow got broken off or cut off.
