I have a '63 4000 SOS diesel

I want to remove my hydraulic pump, and manifold, so that I can clean and paint behind it. What do I need to do, before I unbolt the manifold.

I have a service manual that tells me how to remove the pump, but it say's nothing about removing the manifold. I don't want to unbolt it, and find I just emptied all my hydraulic fluid onto the ground!

Thanks, Pat

Drain the fluid first, or you'll do just that - empty it all onto the ground.

Nothing special to pull the pump but as
Larry says, drain your hyd reservoir
first.
I would have new Orings in hand before I
did it. Get them from your local CNH
dealer. They are square cut, fit right and
don't leak.

If you are real cheap round o-rings work just fine -214 and -216...
The square cuts are -214S and -216S....

Thanks Hobo, This was the thread I was looking for. I guess I didn't search right to find it.

Thanks again, Pat
