Checkout this gas burner, guess he likes an EGR system on his tractor. Or pioneer of the idea.

the only reason I can think of to run hot exhaust into his intake is to keep his carb from icing off? Lincoln welders with the old 4 cyl. flatheads run a similar system to keep the old M/S updraft carbs from icing off.
