The cheap gear reduction starter on my 3020 gave up so I got a new one and it was a monster wouldn?t fit with my oem filter base so I moved it

Clever, but be careful. There's a reason why the Good Lord tucked our kidneys and arteries out of harm's way, inside our bodies.

A better idea might be to update to the square glass style filters the later tractors used. You can get the bases and brackets at a salvage yard or off a Deere combine. The starter you have is a 4020 starter but that is ok because there is no such thing as to much starter. Tom

Yes your right and I might end up updating to the square filter but they wanted 360$ at the aftermarket place I deal with so I didn?t want to do that right now

I will probably update to the square filter eventually if I can find a used one somewhere

All that room, in hind sight could have squeezed a MT39 or a MT44 in there.

I figure there is no such thing as a starter or batteries that are to big especially when it hits 30 below zero
