Was wondering if there is a way to find out the serial number of a tractor based on the engine serial number. My brother has an R with a good engine tag but the tractor tag is damaged right in the middle of the serial number. Any help is appreciated.

I can only tell you that there are regular posters on here that can tell you what year your tractor was built, based on the engine serial number. (Assuming the engine is original to the tractor, of course.) I'm not sure MM ever tried to record engine numbers when they built tractors during the R,Z, U days.

Thanks t.r.k. I had never heard mention of a way to know MM tractor serial number based off engine number. I was hoping maybe there was. I do have the engine serial number list whether it's original engine or not I don't know.
