I am south of Lima and might be interested. A lot depends on condition of rubber and mechanics. It looks good but if tires are cracked would matter a lot. Are the engine and tran Ok? Does it run without smoking. How much work has been done to it? Might be 2000 more or less depending.

Several years ago I bought a non running 1940 UTU for $800..It didnt take much to make it run..
I wouldnt take $1500 for mine today...If mine looked as nice as yours I'd want a minimum of $2500
for it..They arent easy to find..One thing that hurts is that the tractor market is soft..

Not a lot of red nose U's come up for sale. They are worth more than a regular bar grill U. However, I do not think you would get $4500 for it. Honestly, the market for the older stuff is quite soft. Probably more around $2750-$3250 range, and I don't think it would sell real fast at that. I don't follow things super close, just basing this off what I've seen stuff sell for at auctions and listed for online. Area does make a difference. I'm in South Central MN. Molines are plentiful.

Then put an ad in the classifieds and put your price on it. That will tell you what it's worth. (Hint) This isn't the classified
section.

If you are calling me an idiot I wouldn't give you 1000 if you were starving. There is no magical book that gives you an exact value. There are way to many variables to take into account and you need a willing buyer , so do like the one guy said and list for what u want and see what happens. Did you think someone would tell you it was really valuable without seeing it? Besides if it was your grandpa's why sell unless you really need the money and have to sell. In which case your not going to have a waiting line at 4500. I was only trying to give you a rough starting value and help out. Merry Christmas.
